C'est un roman noir, triste, désespérant, toujours très bien écrit mais si désolant de destinée épouvantable!j'ai dû le lire 2 fois pour m'en imprégner, et mieux comprendre ensuite les épisodes du 'Silmarillion', e je dois dire comme vous que c'est d'une mélancolie un peu lugubre, d'un fatalisme tragique!
Tout ce que nous avons à décider c'est ce que nous devons faire du temps qui nous est imparti

You should write book reviews for a living, Michka! I think it's interesting that the darker stories were written when Tolkien was younger and that he seemed to grow in hope as he aged.
