Elven name: Inwe Elendil
Hobbit name: Esmerelda Peatfingers of Brockenborings

Here's how my girls' names translated:
Elven names: Alasse Saralonde and Tari Saralonde
Hobbit names: Prisca Burrows and Tigerlily Burrows

And my husband's:
Elven name: Eol Saralonde
Hobbit name: Grigory Burrows

I wonder how they come up with these "translations"?

Esmerelda Peatfingers of Brockenborings? That's priceless  . That's definitely my new favourite. Makes Ivy Grubb sound really boring.

What can you see on the horizon? Why do the white gulls call? Across the sea, the pale moone rises, the ships have come to carry you home.

Great links Philipa! I checked out the one where you can write your name in Elvish, supposedly a 10-minute activity. After reading some of the instructions, I think that's a very optimistic estimate!

Philipa, the name generator is up and running, Chris says that there is such a large response it gets backed up sometimes.

Here's my Elvish, ORELINDE SARALONDE

Not so sure I like my Hobbit name, GOLDIE BURROWS

This was fun, thanks :D
